Royce Limited
A company formed by Frederick Henry Royce and a friend Ernest Claremont, who signs early certificates, to build electrical equipment, cranes, dynamos etc. Royce experimented with motor car production in this company in 1903/4 building a handful of cars, one of which was given to Claremont and one came into possession of C.S.Rolls. In 1906 the now famous partnership of Rolls and Royce was formed and a new company Rolls Royce Limited was formed. This company continued in the electrical business for some years until acquired by Herbert Morris Limited.
Capital £170,000 in 100,000 ordinary shares of £1 and 70,000 6% cumulative preference shares of £1.
