A standard gauge line connected to the Glasgow, Barrhead and Neilson Railway. It was extended to East Kilbride in 1865, and in 1882 both lines passed to the Caledonian Railway, who had already contributed £52,000.
Capital £60,000 in shares of £10 each, loans of £20,000. New extension capital raised in 1865 of £45,000 and £15,000.
