A 20 mile line linking Castle Douglas with the Glasgow and South Western Railway. The latter company was authorised to hold shares of £72,000, also working the line from 1859 and amalgamating in 1865.
Capital £120,000 in £10 shares, and loans of £40,000. Additional raised in 1859 (preference shares) of £72,000, and loans of £24,000.
