Deeside Railway Company
Incorporated on 16th July 1846
A line running along the River Dee, and connecting to the Aberdeen Railway. Due to delays in completing the latter railway, the company was re-incorporated on 28th May 1852 for a shorter route, which opened in 1853. The Deeside Extension Railway was built in 1857 (this remaining a separate entity with its own capital) to complete the original course. The company became amalgamated with the Great North of Scotland Railway in 1876.
Original capital £220,000 in 4,400 Shares of £50 each. Loans of £73,333. Reduced in 1852 to £106,250 in £10 shares, and loans £35,400.
