Bute Docks Railway Company
Incorporated on 25th June 1886
An 11 mile line providing access to and from the docks, with a junction with the Taff Vale Railway (who opposed the line on numerous occasions). In 1897 the company was re-named the Cardiff Railway. The line finally opened in 1910 and became part of the Great Western system in 1922.
Capital in 1910: £2,600,000 in ordinary shares, £1,700,000 in preference shares/stock, and over £2,000,000 in debenture stock.
