Corris, Machynlleth and River Dovey Tramroad Company
Incorporated on 12th July 1858
A narrow gauge (2ft 3in) line linking the towns quarries with the river. It opened in 1859, and changed its name in 1864 to the Corris Railway. In 1883 the company was authorised to carry passengers as well as freight, and from 1930 a portion was worked by the Great Western. The line was closed fully in 1948.
