Kidwelly and Burry Port Railway Company
Incorporated on 5th July 1865
A re-naming of the Kidwelly and Llanelly Canal and Tramroad, and involving conversion of the Kymer’s Canal into a railway which would link the existing line to Burry Port. The two companies joined to form the Burry Port and Gwendraeth Valley Railway in 1866. Following this the lines were extended and passenger services introduced in the early 1900’s.
Capital £120,000 in shares, and loans of £18,000.
