Llanelly Railway and Dock Company
Originally incorporated on 19th June 1828.
Initially a 2 mile line and dock, opened in 1833. The company was re-incorporated in 1835 and the railway itself was extended, taking it to 26 miles in length by 1867 including extentions to Swansea and Carmarthen. The company was taken over by the Great Western and the London and North Western Railways.
Original capital £200,000 in 2,000 Shares of £100 each. Loans of £66,000. A further £14,000 in substituted shares and £50,000 in new shares raised by the Act of 1853.
