Incorporated on 4th August 1853.
A 14 mile line between the towns, built in the narrow gauge. It opened in 1859 and was linked to the national network by the Oswestry and Newtown, and the Newtown and Machynlleth Railways in 1861 and 1863 respectively. The line along with others formed part of the Cambrian Railway from its incorporation in 1864.
Capital £60,000 in shares of £10 each, and loans of £20,000.
