Llynvi and Ogmore Railway Company
Incorporated on 28th June 1866
An amalgamation of the Llynvi Valley and the Ogmore Valley Railways. The Llynvi Valley section was built in the broad gauge, and the Ogmore in standard so the former was converted to mixed gauge. The amalgamated lines passed to the Great Western in 1883 following numerous extensions to each section.
Original capital of each company remained separate. Each raised £30,000 in shares and £10,000 loans in 1864 for improvements etc. In 1866 the Llynvi section raised £100,000 in shares and £30,000 loans for extensions, while the Ogmore section raised £123,000 and £41,000 respectively. Jointly the company later issued shares of £100,000 in 1867, £280,000 in 1873, and issued £60,000 debenture stock.
