North Wales Narrow Gauge Railways Company
Incorporated on 6th August 1872.
Two lines covering 23 miles, the first to run to Bettwys-y-Coed was abandoned in 1876. The second was only partially completed but opened from 1877 onwards and ran from Dinas to Snowdon and Rhyd-ddu. The line closed in 1916, partially re-opened in 1922 and was re-named the Welsh Highland Railway.
Capital £150,000 in shares of £10 and loans of £50,000 for the main line ‘General Undertaking’. Capital £66,000 and loans of £22,000 for the second line ‘Moel Tryfan’. Further capital raised in subsequent years.
