Sirhowey Railway (Tramway)
Incorporated on 26th June 1802. An 11 mile plateway built by the Monmouthshire Canal Company, for transporting Iron goods from Tredegar to the canal. The line opened in 1805, and passed to the London and North Western Railway in 1876 (one section vested in the Monmouthshire Railway and passing to the Great Western).
Capital £30,000 in shares and loans of £15,000.
