Welsh Iron & Coal Mining Company
Formed around 1824. The company was floated with the large capital of £250,000 and acquired four Denbighsire / Flintshire iron works: Aberderfyn, Coed Talon, Leeswood, and Llwyneinion. The company was short lived, failing in 1829 at the same time as managing partner and major shareholder Thomas Jones was declared bankrupt, indication that there was un-ethical practice and poor management to blame. Coal was mined at this location in following years, but most likely by a new company.
Capital £250,000 in shares of £25.
