Wrexham, Mold and Connah’s Quay Railway Company
Incorporated on 7th August 1862.
A line to connect the towns (though never reaching Mold) which opened in 1866. The company took over the Buckley Railway (with which it connected) from 1873 and also formed connections with the Great Western to complete its route. The line passed to the Great Central Railway in 1905.
Capital £150,000 in shares of £10 each, loans of £50,000. Capital was increased between 1864 and 1883, and consolidated in the latter year. Total authorised capital in 1890 £732,750 in shares/stock, and £600,090 in loans.
