Columbus Southern Railway Company
Chartered in Georgia in 1885 as the Columbus and Florida Railway. Charter amended in 1886 and name changed to this. Operated an 88-mile line from Columbus to Albany that opened in 1890. Leased to the Georgia Midland and Gulf Railroad but the lease was cancelled soon afterwards. Operated independently until running into financial difficulties in 1895 and sold to the Georgia and Alabama Railroad in 1896.
