Chicago and Eastern Illinois Railroad Company
Incorporated in 1877 as a consolidation of the Chicago, Danville and Vincennes Railroad Company, Evansville, Terre Haute and Chicago Railroad Company and the Evansville and Terre Haute Railroad Company. Re-incorporated 7th June 1894 in Illinois to consolidation the Chicago and Indiana Coal Railway Company. Absorbed the Chicago, Paducah and Memphis Railroad, 23rd Feb 1897 and others.
