Jewett Typewriter Company
Founded in Iowa in 1888 by George Anson Jewett a well known businessman in des Moines. The Duplex-Jewett Typewriter Company was incorporated in March 1898. Name changed around 1900. He obtained support for his company in Europe and most of the known shares were issued via the Paris market. Production ceased around 1910 and the company acquired by underwood.
Capital $1,000,000 in 8% Preference shares and $1,250,000 in Ordinary shares all of $5.
