National Storage Company
Incorporated 11th April 1867 in New Jersey. Oil storage and agents. Much of its oil storage property sold to the Standard Oil Company in 1899 and a new company – New Jersey Storage Company formed. The National Storage Company retained its warehouses where is continued with a general warehousing business on Black Tom island. In 1902 most of the capital stock acquired by the Lehigh Valley Railroad. In 1916 a devastating explosion and fire destroyed much of the structures and they laid dormant until 1921 when the Company leased them to the Lehigh Valley Railroad with the company retaining a small portion mostly for the warehousing of sugar.
