A new paper in the style of the New York Times, with C.C.Norvell as President.  Issued 6 times per week. Caleb Cushing Norvell, 1813-1891, newspaper editor and printer, printed for the City of Nashville and also the State of Tennessee. Moved to Staten island to become Financial editor of the New York Times in 1851 where he served until the formation of this company. This venture was short lived and cost him dearly.
