Atlantic and Danville Railway Company
Incorporated in Virginia in 1882 and opened its main line between Portsmouth, Virginia and Danville, Virginia in 1890. Leased to the Southern Railway Company from 1899–1949. The Norfolk and Western Railway purchased the company in 1962 and reorganised it as the Norfolk, Franklin and Danville Railway.
