Utah Western Railway Company
Incorporated in Utah on June 24, 1889 by John W. Young and associates to build a narrow gauge line from Salt Lake City to Great Salt Lake, and on to Black Rock on the south shore of the lake, a distance of about 30 miles. Construction began on July 5th.
