Incorporated 3rd December 1900. Consolidated with the Portland, Vancouver & Yakima Railway Company to form the Washington Railway & Navigation Company. Allen C. Mason, lawyer, settled in Tacoma in 1883. Established much of the infrastructure of Tacoma and Yakima including gas and electric plants and tramways. He had become a multimillionaire by the 1890’s building a 36 room mansion for his family which was later sold to Whitworth College.
