Barbados Railway Company Ltd
Originally formed under Barbados Legislature in 1873, amended in 1878 and the company then registered in London in 1879 with Limited liability. A 24 mile narrow gauge line from Bridgetown to Belleplaine, complete in 1883. After initial success the line suffered from flooding and corrosion leading to a rebuild at 2’6″ gauge in 1898. In financial difficulties again in 1904 and taken over by Barbados Light Railway Company Limited in 1905. Company number 13027
